Winter trail report: 1/14/22
Happy Friday and welcome to the long weekend! Winter trail report #2 brings us the results of a frigid start to the week, midweek meltdown, and late-week freeze. The trails seem to have made it through the warmup without significant damage and the silver lining is that those temps made for lovely base building!
Winter trail report: 1/7/22
And we’re back! The MEMBA trail network has been getting dumped on this week and the whole team has been busy getting things rideable. Snow-shoe/ski/low-PSI tire traffic will be very welcome everywhere as we work to establish base at all trails. We’re charging into 2022 with a bunch of new equipment, a super excited group of volunteer groomers, and we’re also adding Shore Acres into the mix!
So long, 2021!
As we get ready to ring in yet another new year, it’s time to take a couple minutes to remember what MEMBAs were able to accomplish in 2021! And as a reminder: MEMBA is a 501c3 organization run completely by volunteers and supported by donations (and membership)! If you’re looking to finish off the year with some good deeds but not quite sure MEMBA is the right place for them, read on.
Check out ArtBike West Michigan!

‘Tis the season for riding bikes! We’ve got rides to cure mashed tater bloat, gift ideas for the discerning west Michigan off road cyclist, and some initial details for Global Fat Bike Day 2021!
What’s coming up in MEMBA-land
You may have noticed that the blog here has been pretty silent…that’s because we’re out riding, digging, and, well, mostly clearing trees as of late! But there is a lot going on in the coming days, so let’s get it all out there!
Mosquito Creek Update & Ribbon Cutting Info!
In less than two weeks, Mosquito Creek will have officially DOUBLED in length! Come celebrate the project completion with us on June 19th!
While the Dirt Artisans crew has been busy finishing up the new trails, they also jumped over to The Matrix to add in a couple rock gardens:
And that’s not all! Volunteers came out last week to put in some work on The Faz Track:
Lastly: there’s still time to donate and grab some MC goodies before the opening! Blue tees have been added and the original green tees are also still available (fairly limited quantities left in both). We hope to see you all out at the trail on June 19th!
Winter trail report farewell: 3/12
Who turned off the winter machine?? It’s incredible to think about how much snow was still on the ground this time last week. We hope you got to show some skin early this week and are now extra amped for an amazing spring. Everything is “closed” for now, but if this sunshine keeps up that’ll change before ya know it! Thanks for riding along with us this winter and spending thousands of dark, cold, sunny, snowy, glorious hours out at the trails. Be sure to thank a groomer if you see them!
